Long draw spinning
Dates: TBD
Learn how to spin a lofty, airy, but strong yarn using the long draw technique. This technique is useful for all fibers, both short and long, from alpaca to wool to yak! It is also a very relaxing—and fast—way to spin. This is a two day class that is taught by Sandy Halonen of Monroe, OR who learned the long draw technique when she took her first spinning class in 1980 and she’s never looked back. Sandy is an amazing teacher whose passion for fiber is contagious and inspiring!
Prerequisites: Be able to spin a singles yarn (consistent or not!) on a spinning wheel. This class is suitable for all spinners, beginning and experienced.
Supplies: 4 oz. Romney roving included. Bring your spinning wheel in working order, or let us know if you need to use one of the Mill wheels and we’ll be sure to have it ready.
Cost is $90.
